Role summary:
The Assistant Manager is a key member of the Funds & Institutional team. The role holder will be responsible for the provision of accounting support and relationship management to a complex client portfolio with significant levels of transactions. Undertaking more complex and/or significant transitions in the portfolio unsupervised.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Managers by running a small portfolio of varied clients in a managerial capacity ensuring that financial statements are prepared on a timely basis and liaising with admin teams to ensure deadlines and other requirements are met.
Review annual financial statements prepared in accordance with FRS 102, or IFRS.
Co-ordinate audits for client entities where applicable.
Prepare management accounts, NAVs and annual financial statements, in accordance with FRS 102, IFRS or US GAAP, for more complex groups including real estate and Fund clients.
Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns where applicable
Ensure that bank accounts and investment portfolios have been reconciled in accordance with the Company’s procedures and that all reconciling items are satisfactorily resolved.
Provide on the job coaching and supervision to more junior members of the accounting team.
To maintain and develop good relationships with client personnel.
To develop and maintain good staff relations generally in the Firm.
To demonstrate strong accounting technical knowledge when dealing with admin teams, client personnel and auditors.
To ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with Company internal procedures.
To maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and security in terms of client affairs and papers.
To monitor your own performance against personal and development targets.
To monitor the performance of any junior staff allocated to you and bring any concerns to the attention of the relevant Director.
To identify areas where further training is required and bring these to the attention of the Managers or director.
To ensure compliance with the Company’s professional conduct, quality and ethical standards.
To keep a personal up-to-date awareness of current industry issues, e.g. changes in legislation, relevant accounting standards.
Skills and experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in the finance industry.
Must hold a suitable professional qualification (ACA, ACCA etc.).
Be capable of working autonomously.
Previous experience working on Luxembourg clients and structures desirable.
Exposure to Debt, Real Estate and Private Equity preferable
