Role summary:
The Director is a key member of the Funds & institutional team. The role holder will be responsible for leading a team of administrators and accountants to manage a varied client portfolio and will have ownership for the successful delivery of excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide ongoing support and advice to the administrators and accountants working in the Funds & Institutional team on all technical matters, ensuring a high standard of service is provided to clients.
Act as a director on the client boards and act as principal director on key client relationships.
Be responsible for client relationship management and participation in new business development activities for the group.
Oversee the management of a varied client portfolio to ensure that accounting records are maintained in accordance with relevant accounting standards, all reconciliations are up to date and financial statements are signed off on a timely basis.
Make critical judgements on technical accounting and administration matters in consultation with key stakeholders, and client directors as necessary, and document decisions made where required by auditors.
Liaise with client teams and professional tax advisors ensuring that all clients’ tax compliance requirements are met on a timely basis and provide support in dealing with any contentious/judgmental issues.
Provide advice in dealing with ongoing issues and assist in preparing responses to any compliance checks made by HMRC, carrying out detailed research as required.
Continually build knowledge and experience in all areas of the business.
Consider regulatory issues in all aspects of work and report any concerns to senior management as appropriate.
Promote teamwork and strong relationships with other staff members including cross-jurisdictional teams.
Ensure timely collection of debt, as well as accuracy of billing and that timesheets are kept up to date for the team at all times.
Skills and experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in the finance industry.
Must hold a suitable professional qualification (ICSA, ACA, ACCA etc.).
Be capable of working autonomously.
Experience managing or supervising a team.
Previous experience working on Luxembourg clients and structures desirable.
Exposure to Private Debt, Real Estate and Private Equity preferable.
