Our team helps clients assess their target real estate ecosystem and identify risks and opportunities. With us, you’ll help the team support corporate owners/users, developers, hospitality organisations and investors during a deal or restructuring.
About the role
We are looking to recruit an RICS qualified real estate valuer to join our growing team at a manager level, in order to help provide additional bandwidth and facilitate growth of our real estate centre of excellence.
The role will provide you with an opportunity to work on a range of client engagements and with a number of other teams, including with our Real Estate practices in our network of PwC member firms. Alongside this, we would expect that a significant proportion of your time would be spent supporting our Audit practice in relation to the review of real estate valuations as an expert role in the preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities
You will be active across all areas of our work and with exposure to clients and their advisors to support and develop our provision of real estate orientated advice to external and internal clients.
Responsibilities will include:
• Carrying-out and overseeing the reviews of real estate asset valuations in support of audit, tax, dispute or transaction purposes. You would be expected to lead on the work and report directly to the relevant contact, under the supervision of a director (or similar);
• Work collaboratively with PwC network firms, including UK, Middle East and Ireland on valuation, on audit due diligence and corporate real estate assignments. This would typically be as part of a wider PwC team, including other service lines such as audit, corporate finance, due diligence, tax or business valuations; however often requiring you to work independently on key work streams (depending on skills and experience);
• Undertake and review real estate valuations, including financial modelling as part of the valuation process;
• Preparation of presentations / reports;
• Coaching more junior team members in respect of technical valuation and market knowledge as part of client assignments, in order to support the development of our growing team;
• Input into project / engagement management, including acceptance and risk procedures, management of budget / resources, delivery and client management;
• Supporting and working alongside other senior team members in the development of new business in the sector, including preparation of proposals and pitches, attendance at presentations and identifying opportunities for sell-on of existing work.
Essential Skills and Experience
The following skills are required for this role:
• RICS qualified (or other similar real estate qualification) or with significant real estate advisory experience (a significant proportion of which should have been with a valuations focus)
• Good knowledge of commercial real estate markets
• Willingness to learn and take on a high degree of responsibility
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating at all levels
• Ability to work effectively in teams and, on occasion, to tight deadlines
• Proven ability to deliver high quality written work
• Strong analytical skills but tempered with an ability to think laterally
• Good MS Excel (preferably some Real Estate cashflow modeling experience)
• Working knowledge of Real Estate valuation software e.g. Argus Enterprise, Argus Developer, MRI
• Strong attention to detail
• Good project and time management skills
• Professional verbal and written English
Preferred knowledge and skills:
• Valuation of development assets
• Valuation of operating assets (e.g. hotels)
• Restructuring or distressed situations
• Financial reporting

You will also have the opportunity to take increasing amounts of responsibility and ownership of projects as your experience develops whilst being provided with required and flexible support.
Whilst we envisage the role being based in the Channel Islands, we are a firm which practices everyday flexibility. As such, there would be some scope for the individual to split some of their time working from home.
