Baker Tilly Channel Islands is excited to unveil a collaboration with British professional golfer, Laurie Canter, who will now proudly serve as the Brand Ambassador for the leading Channel Islands Assurance and Advisory firm. This exciting partnership will kick off at the prestigious Hero Dubai Desert Classic, a Rolex Event, commencing on January 18th, where Laurie will showcase the Baker Tilly Channel Islands brand on his shirt.

Hailing from Bath, Laurie embarked on his professional golf journey in 2011, securing victory at the Spanish Amateur Championship. Laurie had a breakthrough season in 2020 with five top-10 finishes on the DP World Tour, entering him to the World Top 100 for the first time in his career. Laurie followed up his stellar 2020 season with an equally exciting 2021, which included a closely fought runner up finish at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. His performances on the course in 2020 and 2021 earnt him a place in his first Major on US soil; the 2022 US PGA Championship at Southern Hills. In 2022 Laurie continued his form in Major championships and enjoyed all four rounds of the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews and followed this up in 2023 with his best finish in a Major with a tied-17th finish at the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. In 2022, Canter joined LIV Golf, and played for both Majesticks GC and Cleeks GC across the league’s first two seasons.

The 2024 DP World Tour season has already seen Laurie secure two Top 5 finishes in his initial three events, with an impressive Tied 4th at the ISPS Handa Australian Open and a remarkable 2nd at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. As he gears up for the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, Laurie Canter’s partnership with Baker Tilly Channel Islands promises to be an exciting journey ahead in the world of professional golf.
