Jersey Finance is asking firms in Jersey to nominate their rising stars, as part of a new initiative to celebrate the next generation of professionals in the finance industry.

The Jersey Finance 2020 Rising Stars Awards are an opportunity for its Members to reward and recognise young Jersey talent within the International Finance Centre through a prestigious annual event celebrating their successes and achievements.

Nominations are now open until 6 March for Jersey Finance Member firms to put forward their younger staff members (16-30 years old) for outstanding achievements in their area of work. They can enter via an online portal and all entries will be reviewed and shortlisted by a panel of three independent judges in the first two weeks of March. The judges will be Kate Wright, Director at Arbre Consulting & Co-Founder at The Diversity Network; Alexia McClure, Chief Operations Officer, Jersey Business; and Stuart Penn, Operations Manager, Skills Jersey.

Voting will open to the public on 20 March via the Jersey Finance website and all shortlisted will be invited to an awards ceremony on Friday 13 November at La Mare Wine Estate, where the winner of each category will be announced.

Commenting on the awards, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive, Jersey Finance said:

“It is so important to engage with and inspire the next generation of finance professionals in our industry, making sure they appreciate the vital part they have to play in Jersey’s success as an International Finance Centre. Moving into a new decade, the youngest in our industry will be our future leaders; they’re the ones learning cutting edge skills in a number of areas and who have the confidence to face new challenges that the coming years may bring. We hope that our Member firms will take this opportunity to celebrate their most talented and promising young colleagues and put them forward for the first Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards this summer.”

Members can nominate via the website.
