Jersey remains the leading international finance centre (IFC) after being recognised for the eighth time as ‘IFC of the Year’ for private wealth management at the annual Citywealth IFC awards this week. Having held the title for eight years, Jersey has consistently ranked higher for its expertise and financial service offering than other shortlisted jurisdictions such as Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Singapore, and Guernsey.

The award was collected at the ceremony on 29 January at the Rosewood London Hotel by Jersey Finance representatives Allan Wood, Global Head of Business Development, Robert Moore, Director – UK, and Faizal Bhana, Director – Middle East and Africa.

Organised by events and publishing group Citywealth, the Awards were established nine years ago to highlight the expertise and service excellence of advisors and managers in the private wealth sector in major IFCs. They are judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all sectors, with winners being selected based on their excellence, achievement, innovation, expertise and service.

Commenting on the award win Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive, Jersey Finance, said:

“We’re incredibly proud that Jersey has been recognised as the leading IFC for another consecutive year. It’s testament to the hard work the industry puts in year-round to ensure we provide a relevant and cutting-edge service offering, to build on our growing international contact base and to maintain a strong and stable platform for our international clients.

“As we step into a new chapter of change and opportunity, with Brexit happening just this week, this should provide a vote of confidence to both our Members and their clients that Jersey is the jurisdiction of choice for complex private wealth management, funds, banking and capital markets expertise.”
