Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, has maintained the top spot as leading funds legal adviser in the 29th annual Monterey Jersey Fund Report 2023.
Monterey Insight is an independent fund research company that provides comprehensive statistical analysis of the Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland, Luxembourg and UK fund industries.
The latest report highlights that as of 30 June 2023, Mourant advised nearly a thousand funds, totaling US$495 billion (by assets). This represents just under 40 per cent of the total market share (by assets) in Jersey.
Overall in the market, fund assets serviced in Jersey increased to US$593.5 billion at the end of June 2023, up 1.4 per cent in US Dollar terms.

The Mourant global Investment Funds team continues to lead the market, with recognition across all leading legal directories, including Band 1 rankings for the firm’s Guernsey and Jersey Funds teams in the latest Chambers and Partners UK legal directory. Rankings granted by the directory are recognised throughout the legal sector as the definitive mark of excellence.
The firm’s global investment funds offering was further strengthened in 2023, with the announcement of the launch of a new office in Singapore. In conjunction with the launch, Mourant welcomed Craig Luton as Singapore Managing Partner. Prior to joining Mourant, Craig was a partner in Maples and Calder’s Funds and Investment Management team in Singapore.
