Walkers’ Jersey team has advised Suntera Global on its successful application for a licence to provide fund administration services in Jersey.

A team led by Group Partner Leanne Wallser advised Suntera on the license application to the Jersey Financial Services Commission, including advising on all relevant matters of investment funds and regulatory law.

Suntera already held fund administration licenses in the Cayman Islands, Bahamas and Isle of Man. The new license enables Suntera Fund Services (Jersey) Limited to support private equity, real estate, venture capital and other alternative fund managers with a full range of administration services, from fund set-up and structuring, through to back-office reporting and accounting, and governance and oversight.

Leanne, who advised Suntera Global alongside senior associates Joseph Barker-Willis and Olivia Palloch, said: “We are delighted to have been able to advise our client on this major step, and look forward to being able to continue to work with them.

“Jersey markets itself as a financial services jurisdiction on the strength of its regulatory infrastructure, and so the process of applying for a fund administrator license is a complex and testing one.

“We are very pleased to have been able to support Suntera through the process and congratulate them on this next stage of the development of their Jersey offering and international brand.”
