Are you looking to get back into work? Thinking of a career change? Not sure where to start? Then we have the event for you!

Join us on Tuesday 23 April from 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Centre for a coffee morning for anyone interested in knowing more about rejoining or reskilling into the finance and related professional services industry.

We know that career paths are not always straight forward, life can throw curve balls at us, and we can be pulled in different directions. We are setting up a coffee morning for those who are considering their options and looking to get back to work.

Not knowing where to start is always the first hurdle to overcome, join us and speak to members from the finance and professional services industry who have been in your shoes, from parents who have taken time out of work to look after their children, to someone who works flexibly to look after sick/ elderly family members, and people who had a career change into finance.

The finance industry is an industry that aims to work around you and we believe that there is a job for everyone.

Let us help you de-bust the myths of working in finance, speak to relatable people and find your next steps.

The event will start at 10:00 am with a welcome speech, from our Strategy and Research Senior Manager, Karolina Pilcher, we will then hear from representatives from our local finance firms sharing their experiences. . After this there will be time for questions. We will also provide breakout areas for 1-2-1 conversations. If you are not able to join us for the start of the event don’t worry, please feel free to drop in when you can.

What format will Reconnect take?

We want this event to be really informal and be all about you and helping answer any questions you might have about either re-joining the world of finance or starting a career in the industry. There will be a welcome speech, we will then hear from local finance firm representatives and then there will be time for questions and conversations.

Is there a cost to attend Reconnect?

No, Reconnect is free of charge.

Do I have to register to attend?

Yes, we require you to sign up via out Eventbrite link.

Do I have to be a Jersey Finance Member to attend?

No, this is a public event for anyone interested in working in the finance industry.

Do we have to stay for the entire session?

No, the event will be held from 10:00am – 12:00 pm, with the idea that people can drop in anytime of the morning.

Is the parking?

Yes, you can use the St. Paul Centres free parking spaces. Please consider that these might be taken, the closest car park is Sand Street.

Is there a dress code?

There is no dress code for the event.

Will there be opportunities to talk to potential employers?

Yes, we will invite a few employers and/or recruiters that you can talk to.

Can I bring children with me?

We would recommend that to get the best out of the session that you arrange childcare. If childcare will prevent you from attending, please email us and we can speak to you directly to discuss alternative resources we can provide.
