100+Christmas giftswere given to families supported by the Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-Visiting scheme (MECSH) – a programme that promotes best outcomes for mothers and children and is delivered by Health Visitors at Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC).

Families may agree to participate on the MECSH programme for many different reasons. For example, a child facing medical challenges, a mother suffering from post-natal depression, or a baby born prematurely. FNHC's Health Visitors make regular visits to these families at home to support maternal health and wellbeing and promote the best possible developmental outcomes babies and pre-school children.

With FNHC being one of BNP Paribas' chosen charities in 2017, staff decided to come together to donate a Christmas gift for a child on the MECSH programme. BNP Paribas staff bought and wrapped more than 100 presents suitable for new-borns up to the age of two.

'There are currently 150 children under the age of two who are participating on the MECSH programme in the island.  We're so grateful to BNP Paribas for and all the staff for getting behind such a thoughtful initiative' said Ivo Le Maistre Smith, Fundraising Manager at FNHC.

BNP Paribas' Brand and Communications Co-ordinator, Jane Gregory said, 'We thoroughly enjoyed coordinating this initiative at BNP Paribas for the children FNHC support. It was an initiative which staff responded really well to and clearly felt very passionate about. We set up a wrapping station at work where staff could wrap the gifts they bought together. It was a real team effort and everyone was very generous with their gifts. Christmas is such a special time for children and families, we hope we've been able to help in this small way.'
