Four of us attended two careers on the same day!

We got to speak to over 500 students at each careers event, hosted at Hautlieu school for their ‘Next Steps’ fair and at the Merton for the Highlands College jobs fair.

These events coincided with the closing of our Life in Finance applications, so it was a great chance to remind students to take up the opportunity before time runs out!

These events saw us use our interactive careers matching game for the first time! This game matches up roles within the finance industry to subjects, showing students how their interests and skills can translate into the world of finance. Students loved the visual and it’s a fun way to show them the opportunities available to them.

We also hosted a networking event for our Future Connect Members this month, focussed on Resilience at Work. At this event, our guest speakers Marisa Ballantyne, and Simon Nash, from Infinity Learning Limited, explored the nature of the challenges of managing professional careers and some of the habits of success that can help you along the journey.

Future Connect is a forum aimed at those starting their career in finance. It allows them to network with peers within the industry and helps them develop their soft skills.

If any of your colleagues or friends work in the industry and would like to attend our events in the future, then please do encourage them to sign up to our Future Connect programme.
