Nominations are now open for the annual Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards 2024, which aim to recognise and celebrate the stars of the future from across Jersey’s financial and related professional services sector and champion Jersey as a hub for young talent.

Now in their fifth year, the Awards continue to evolve, with a gala ceremony taking place earlier than usual this year – Friday 24 May. The categories have also been updated to better reflect the changing nature of roles and skills across the full spectrum of the industry.

For the first time ever this year there will be an insurance category. This award is aimed at individuals who have made a continuous and outstanding contribution by going above and beyond in their role in insurance, while positively impacting on their company’s success.

Open to young people (aged 16 – 30), the Awards this year include the following categories:

  • Accountancy
  • Banking, kindly sponsored by HSBC Bank plc – Jersey Branch
  • Business Development and Marketing, kindly sponsored by Butterfield Bank (Jersey) Limited
  • Compliance
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), kindly sponsored by Standard Bank
  • Digital
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Funds, kindly sponsored by TMF Group
  • Human Resources
  • Insurance (NEW), kindly sponsored by Gallagher
  • Investment Management, kindly sponsored by KPMG in the Crown Dependencies
  • Law
  • Operations and Support
  • Trust and Corporate Services, kindly sponsored by Stonehage Fleming

In addition, Jersey Finance is also launching a new Future Leaders Forum, which will offer the winners a unique opportunity to discuss the strategic direction and competitiveness of Jersey’s financial and related professional services industry. The outcomes of these discussions will be shared with Jersey Finance’s Board and the Financial Services Advisory Board (“FSAB”), chaired by the Government of Jersey, on a regular basis.

Nominations for Rising Stars 2024 are open from now until Friday 23 February for anyone working in Jersey Finance Member firms, to nominate their employees through the dedicated Awards hub. Firms are able to submit multiple nominations across all categories, and once entries are submitted, they will be reviewed and shortlisted by a panel of independent judges.

Shortlisted entries will then be publicly voted for via an online polling platform, with winners being announced at the Awards ceremony.

Commenting on the 2024 Awards, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive, Jersey Finance said:

“The world of international financial services continues to evolve in terms of skills and the changing nature of roles, and it is important that we reflect that through these flagship Awards, which are now in their fifth year. Recognising and celebrating the emerging talent we have in Jersey is absolutely critical as we look to nurture a highly skilled, forward-thinking and sustainable workforce that can maintain Jersey’s leading position as an IFC.

“I’m also really pleased to announce a new Future Leaders Forum, which provides a really unique opportunity for our winners to get an insight into the work that goes behind the scenes to drive our industry forward. It should make for an excellent experience for our future leaders. We look forward to receiving lots of inspiring nominations over the coming weeks.”
