Jersey Finance Shines a ‘Spotlight on Funds’
Throughout June, we hosted a series of four events titled ‘Spotlight on Funds: Accessing International Capital.’ During these events, Elliot Refson, our Head of Funds, discussed the significant advantages that Jersey’s well-established model offers to fund managers in Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong SAR.
In Singapore, Yiow Chong Tan, our Business Development Director for South East Asia, led two events – one in partnership with NatWest, and the other hosted at Barclays’ office in Singapore. Guests heard from keynote speakers from Jersey Chris Griffin, Partner at Carey Olsen; Dilmun Leach, Group Partner at Walkers; as well as Wee Hwee Teo, Partner and Tax Head of Real Estate & Asset Management at KPMG Singapore.
Topics covered included how Jersey’s well-established model offers clear advantages to Singapore-based fund managers, introduction to Jersey’s fund regime, structuring a Jersey fund, and the potential tax benefits of using Jersey structures.
The final event of this series, led by Maria McDermott, our Business Development Consultant for Asia, was held in partnership with Ogier in Hong Kong SAR. Prior to a discussion led by Maria, Elliot Refson, our Head of Funds, highlighted how Jersey’s well-established model offers clear advantages to Hong Kong-based fund managers.
We tailored our ‘Spotlight on Funds’ event series for finance professionals interested in the advancements and changes within the sector and international finance centres more generally.
