9 February 2018 – Following its successful rebrand from Volaw Group to VG in September 2017 and as part of its focus on growth and the aim to delight its clients, VG has seen a raft of new employees join the fiduciary and administration company across all areas of the business.

In the past four months a total of eight new members of staff have boosted the ranks at VG including three trainees, demonstrating VG’s commitment to supporting the growth of Jersey’s financial services sector by providing jobs at grass roots levels for local people as well as more senior positions.

Lucinda Gouveia, Trust Officer, recently joined VG from a large global firm. Lucinda commented on why she chose VG: “As soon as I walked into VG’s offices I got a good feeling that the business was in the process of positive change and I wanted to be part of that. Having worked in both large and small organisations, I was looking for something in the middle, with a family feel and where you don’t feel like a number. VG gives me that but at the same time has enough structure to allow me to grow and fulfil my potential. The emphasis on personal development and CSR was also a big attraction for me and I am looking forward to gaining further qualifications, continuously learning and participating in as many sporting and charity events as possible.”

Olivia Grimstead, new Senior Fund Administrator was looking for a smaller independent company where she could work alongside her colleagues on a daily basis, rather than a global firm with teams all over the world. “VG was recommended to me as a great company to work for by some local friends who have worked here for a long time. The family atmosphere and opportunity to develop a long and satisfying career really make VG stand out.”

Previous employee Emily Roque has returned to VG after three years with another firm, “When I was asked to return to VG the team seemed so genuinely happy that it was an easy decision. VG has such a diverse client base which makes every day different and this was something I really missed. I’m very happy to be back.”

Jake Huckerby joined VG as a trainee in the Compliance team in October 2017. “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support received from all my colleagues in my transition from school to work. My first few months have been very enjoyable and I hope there are many more years to come as exciting times lie ahead. I am thrilled by the opportunity offered to me by VG to experience various aspects of the company and get a real feel for what every team does”.

Mark Hucker, MD of VG commented on the influx of new joiners: “As part of our rebranding process we wanted to bring our recruitment strategy into line with the new face of VG. By actively looking for the right people who can help to shape the future of the business and then offering those people a stimulating career path and experience, we are building a VG ‘family’ committed to a common purpose. We spend a lot of time at work and employees rightly look for more than just the right salary – from personal and professional development to supporting the local community and an active social environment. As an employer it really is important to recognise and value that new partnership so that VG can be as successful over the next 35 years as it has been over the past 35 years.”
