Overview

What is the opportunity?

Your responsibilities within the Tax Operations & Reporting team would be supporting key day-to-day operational processes and controls covering documentation, withholding, and reporting as part of Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) / QI Wealth Management International Compliance Program and Canadian Tax day-to-day processes and controls.

What will you do?

Assist the team with reviewing US and Canadian tax forms for validity and reasonableness to ensure US and non-US clients are correctly documented.
Support counterparty (Agent Network and Hedge Fund) requests for RBC FATCA/QI documentation.
Prioritise inputting data captured in tax forms into systems. Ensuring accuracy of data capture and checking against client records maintained in other systems.
Assist W8 expiry and renewals process, liaising directly with Relationship Managers and promoting a Client/RM First culture around outreach.
Lead mandatory and daily control reports that manage risks of incorrect withholding, addressing identified issues/errors in a timely manner.
Support the Tax Operations & Reporting Manager with any activities required to prepare annual regulatory reporting for WMI QI legal entities.

Must-Have

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Organisation skills with ability to prioritise effectively
Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
High degree of competency in Excel
Sound risk management and judgement

Nice-to-have

Prior knowledge of RBC policies and procedures
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
