Overview

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will have responsibility for a bookkeeping role, supporting the asset administration function and enabling accounts preparation for entities administered by RBC Trust Company International Limited.

What will you do?

– Maintain reconciliation service levels for a defined caseload of quoted investment valuations and associated cash accounts, in order to meet reporting and accounting deadlines

– Fully bookkeep statements in relation to investment transactions

– Undertake daily reconciliation duties to clear interface queues in relation to error postings and control suspense ledgers

– Complete end of financial year (or ad hoc) verification checklists in order to affirm completeness an enable accounting team production of financial statements

– Support team colleagues with cover on their responsibilities and team tasks such as inbox “email” queries

– Periodic User-Acceptance Testing (“UAT”) this involves test routines to check enhancements and ensure upgrades are not detrimental to our existing processes

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

– Experience of bookkeeping quoted investments, understanding investment-related transactions such as purchases, sales, investment income and a variety of corporate actions

– Eye for accuracy and accomplished with reconciliation processes to investigate and remedy disparities between records

– Great time management capabilities to meet periodic deadlines

– Supportive nature to work as part of team striving to meet common goals

– Proficiency with MS office, especially excel and office

Nice-to-have

– Awareness of Block posting theory and the mechanism for bookkeeping

– Exposure to derivatives – foreign currency forwards transactions, puts & calls

– Good I.T. literacy and able to adapt to quickly learn new platforms, system changes and upgrades
