Jersey-based Ashburton Investments’ Chindia Equity Fund has been named one of the top performing offshore funds for three consecutive years at the prestigious Raging Bull awards.

The gala awards ceremony took place last night (31 January) on Cape Town’s waterfront, South Africa.

The Chindia Equity Fund, which is managed by St Helier-based investment managers Craig Farley and Simon Finch, was named ‘Best Offshore (FSB-Approved) Far East Equity General Fund’ based on risk-adjusted performance over five years.

The Fund also picked up the award for ‘Best Offshore (FSB-Approved) Far East Equity General Fund over three years’.

The Raging Bull Awards, now in their 22nd year, are designed to recognise the best performing funds available to South African investors, with more than 1,000 funds competing right across the awards’ range of categories.

Craig Farley, co-Fund Manager, “We are delighted to once again be recognised as the go to Fund for access to China and India’s equity markets.  To have now received three successive accolades demonstrates the consistency of our investment philosophy, built upon a strong foundation of a blended investment approach.”

Simon Finch, co-Fund Manager, “China and India remain the core focus of Ashburton Investments’ emerging market strategy.  It is becoming increasingly evident that these two countries will produce better returns than a broader emerging market approach, something we have identified for nearly 15 years.”

“We look forward to many more years of continued success in these two markets and rewarding times for our clients.”
