Jersey Finance will be hosting an event later next month aimed at encouraging and supporting people who are considering re-entering the world of financial services or those who are thinking about making a career switch.

The ‘Reconnect’ event will be held at St. Paul’s Centre in St. Helier on Tuesday 31 October between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm and is free for anyone to register and to attend.

The event will feature a short introduction from Karolina Pilcher, senior strategy and research manager at Jersey Finance, focussing on the flexible and evolving career opportunities within the industry, as well as a panel session featuring individuals who have either returned to or switched into the industry, hosted by Will Carnegie.

There will also be time to chat to the panel as well as other representatives from the finance industry who can offer their insight into re-entering or starting their careers.

There will be an opportunity for questions, and breakout areas for one-to-one discussions with members of the industry who have diverse roles and backgrounds.

Jersey Finance Deputy CEO, Amy Bryant, said about the event:

“We understand that career paths are not always straight-forward, that life can throw curveballs at us, and that we can often be pulled in different directions. The finance industry is alive to that, which is why we are excited to host this informal event which we hope will provide some useful insights for people who are either looking for a fresh challenge or re-entering the industry, perhaps in a different role.

“It’s sometimes not appreciated just how diverse and flexible the roles are within our industry, so we hope this event will dispel any myths and help give local people the inspiration and connections they need to take their next career step.”
